Hi, just to say how much I love your blog. I worked partime in an Indie Record shop back in the late 70’s through to the late 80’s. I was lucky in being able to tape a lot of booties during that period. The images and stories bring back so many memories. The only TAKRL record label I have not seen is side 4. Would that be the image of the headphone guy with a brown paper bag over his head with an arrow sticking in it. Would love to see an image of side 4.

Now everything is online it is hard fopr younger fans to uinderstand the thrill of getting a bootleg, taking it home and praying it was a good sounding recording. 🙂

Best wishes and keep up your good work.

entertaining post…but like to get more of your memories at the shop< you didnt bought the waxes but only taped them? the last line is exactly what is it this days…i cant stand it if thesedays collectors only go for the soundb/iem/satelite recordings…..man how thrilled it was to discover live records from your fave bands…didnt matter how they sounded..!! guess the label youre talkin' about is the last in line of the takrl productions…'the end of an everything .'regarding to takrl. the headphone boy killed by an arrow. – some back inserts covers mentioned the dead of tellyphone if my memories served me well. me myself and i ..the tree of us 🙂 are involved in the bizz after years of collecting and pressing titles in small quantities…now im fully in workship in the bizz…not for the money..oh noo…but to get those gems in my hands and make people happy when they received the parcels and tellin' me how happy and satisfied they are. The fact is…because of this i've met lots of famous bootleggers from the past…not only waxes but also silvers…sjew…mate i can tell you stories…!! happy new 12 months 🙂
