Dragonfly: BOSTON ‘We Found It In The Trashcan, Honest!’

Boston trashcan 2

Dragonfly’s greatest hit and perhaps most famous release. Vicky Vinyl really got lucky with this tape she managed to get her hands and release in 1977, eliciting as much respect as a bootleg possibly can, even 35 years after its first release. All CD versions floating around today originate from the Dragonfly/Ruthless Rhymes vinyl copies. Sound quality no doubt helped by the fact that these tracks only add up to 22 minutes.

    • Yes, this album is not particularly rare. I guess some people just give it a try and want to define the top range of the market.

Vicki Vinyl was a dumpster diver ….who knew?

    • I’m not sure, I’m buying the story expressed in the album title though.

I was actually joking, somewhat. I’m not sure about the exact story either, but think there probably is some truth to the legend that the source tape used for the release was being discarded when it made its way into the hands of someone who …, well, ….knew what to do with it.
