1959: THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE ‘PIPE DREAM’ / ‘Live in Stockholm’ :Fruit End + WRMB 333

TAKRL says: “It’s actually from Stockholm in 1967 except ‘Sunshine of your love’ recorded in London 1968 We copied it disc-to-disc from a underground from Europe.”

“Live in Stockholm” boot on the Fruit End label:

From allmusic.com: “TAKRL, one of the top bootleg labels of the 1970s, claimed that Pipe Dream was recorded live in Amsterdam, Holland, in 1968. But according to a 1978 edition of the bootleg reference guide Hot Wacks, this LP was actually recorded in Stockholm, Sweden, on September 5, 1967; the only exception is a performance of “Voodoo Chile (Slight Return),” which Hot Wacks says was recorded at the Konserthus in Stockholm on January 9, 1969. Pipe Dream, in fact, contains the very same performances heard on Live in Stockholm, a European bootleg that came out on the Fruit End label. Why TAKRL claimed that Pipe Dream was recorded in Amsterdam is anyone’s guess, but what we know for certain is that the performances are first-rate. The sound quality is good stereo, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience is in superb form on “Purple Haze,” “Foxy Lady,” “Fire,” “The Wind Cries Mary,” and “Burning of the Midnight Lamp,” as well as Cream’s “Sunshine of Your Love” and the Beatles‘ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” It’s frustrating that TAKRL provided wrong information about the location of these recordings, but even so, those who acquire this bootleg will find it highly rewarding.”

Wizardo presented their version in 1976. Hot Wacks wrote “…this version is Exs as well.”
